Ube Bubble Tea

Ube Bubble Tea

Ube bubble tea is a delicious and colorful drink that combines the sweet and slightly nutty flavor of ube with the fun texture of tapioca pearls. Here's how to make this gourmet recipe at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Lumi Ube Latte powder
  • 200 ml milk (cow's milk, almond milk, or coconut milk, depending on your preference)
  • 100 ml hot water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Cooked tapioca pearls
  • A dash of vanilla or almond extract (optional)

Preparation

  1. Prepare the ube base: In a cup or glass, pour the ube powder and hot water. Mix well until a smooth, lump-free paste is obtained. Add the sugar or syrup and stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Chill the mixture: Let it rest for a few minutes, then pour the ube mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes.
  3. Add the milk: Slowly pour the cold milk over the ube mixture. You can froth it slightly with a whisk or spoon to create a creamy texture.
  4. Incorporate the pearls: Pour the cooked tapioca pearls into the bottom of the glass.
  5. Mix and enjoy: Stir well before drinking and enjoy your ube bubble tea with a wide straw.

Serving suggestions

For an optimal experience, use a wide straw that allows you to enjoy the tapioca pearls at the same time as the drink. You can also adjust the amount of ube powder according to your flavor preference. If you like sweeter drinks, slightly increase the dose of syrup. For a lighter version, reduce the amount of milk or opt for a less rich plant-based milk.
